Daddy’s (Grown) Little Girl

Simply put, I am, by many accounts, just like my Dad. And usually when people say this, they don’t mean it in a flattering way.

Relationships with parents can be so complex. When it comes to the father-daughter relationship, it could be a sensitive subject, or it could be really simple.

Because my Dad is not very verbal (grunts and bodily noises don’t count), and he’s also very analytical and unemotional, I had no confirmation of his love. I tried HARD as a girl to seek and gain his approval.

Living a “Golden” Life: Hope He’s Proud of Me

Many of you have told me that my words and/or my achievements inspire you, and that you admire me, or proud of me. I so appreciate those encouraging words. Everyone can use a little praise and encouragement now and then. It reminds me of how much my father’s praise meant to me, since I so rarely got it.
